How technology affects our mental health?

How technology affects our mental health?

Ans :- It may seem a little odd from tech blogger to post this sort of article but being a sincere good wisher of my readers , I went looking for answers for such a crucial topic.

These days, it seems like we live our lives on the Internet, but can excessive Internet and social media use impact your mental health?  While it's a helpful tool for education, work, social interaction and entertainment, overuse can take a toll on your health!

It seems that we are addicted to our smart devices and are connected 24×7 , which leaves little room for other important things in life. Everyday, every where I look, everyone is busy on their phones or tablet or laptop which may cause loneliness, depression, anxiety.

• Now what is this addiction?
Internet Addiction is an increased amount of time spent online in order to induce feelings of pleasure.

Symptoms of Internet “addiction” range from decreased impulse control to an individual's inability to stop Internet usage.

Let’s take a look at what science tells us about the effects of technology on our mental health:

• A study done at Duke University found that, on days they use technology more, at-risk adolescents experienced more conduct problems and higher ADHD symptoms compared to days they used technology less. On the flip side, the study also found that those same adolescents experienced less depression and anxiety on days they used technology more.

• A University of Michigan study found that Facebook use led to a decrease in happiness and overall life satisfaction.

• Research coming out of the University of Gothenburg in Sweden found a link between heavy cell phone use in young adults and depressive symptoms.

• A team of Australian researchers conducted two studies and found that compulsive internet use by adolescents leads to poorer mental health.

• A Swansea University study found that heavy internet users experience psychological symptoms of withdrawal when they stop using.

Those studies raise some interesting points, but they also raise more questions. For example, does technology have the same impact on children, adolescents and adults? Or is it more detrimental to the developing brain? How much screen time is too much screen time? And are some forms of technology, like social media, worse than other kinds, like answering work emails?

The fact is technology has evolved so fast that we really don’t have it all figured out yet. To be sure, there will be many more studies done going forward that may help us better understand how technology affects mental health.

• Solution: -

At the end of the day, there has to be a line we draw when it comes to accessing social media.
Perhaps you set a limit on your screen time each day or turn off your devices at a certain time every night. Whatever you do, carve in plenty of time for "real life." You'll be happier and healthier for it.

I truly hope that this helps!
Thanks and keep visiting for more such posts.

Octa Core vs Quad Core – Which is Better for You?

Octa Core vs Quad Core – Which is Better for You?

Ans :  Hello everyone! Here today, with yet another much-debated topic and would like to clear the clouds with this article.
Nowadays while searching for a new phone we always tend check out the phone with best specs ,such as, processor, ram, rom, camera etc. and it's this tendency that the smartphone manufacturing companies cash on. They play the number game. One such thing is marketing of octa-core processors over the dual or quad core processors.

The terms octa-core and quad-core denote the number of processor cores in a CPU. Octa is eight, quad is four. So far, so obvious.

But the key difference between the two – at least when talking about mobile chips in 2019 – is how these processor cores are set up.

In the case of quad-core chips, each core can be put to work simultaneously on a given task, enabling fast and fluid multitasking, smooth 3D gameplay, and super-speedy camera performance, among other things.

Modern octa-core chips, meanwhile, simply have two sets of quad-core processors, which split various tasks between them according to type. Most of the time, the lower-powered set of cores will be employed. When advanced tasks are needed, however, the faster set of four cores will kick in.

A more accurate term than octa-core, then, would be “dual quad-core”. But that just sounds confusing, and it’s not nearly so marketable. So, octa-core it is.

Octa-core vs Quad-core: Purpose

What’s the point of having two sets of quad-core processors handing off tasks to one another, then? It’s all about energy efficiency.

The more powerful a CPU is, the more power it has to draw from a device’s battery. This poses a problem, given that smartphone battery technology hasn’t advanced at anywhere near the rate of mobile processor technology.

The result: as smartphones have gotten more advanced, so battery life has plummeted.

The truth, however, is that you don’t really need that much processing power for the vast majority of smartphone tasks. Navigating through your home screens, checking messages, and even browsing the web aren’t particularly power-hungry tasks.

However, HD video, gaming, and photo manipulation most certainly are.

Combined with the fact that CPU manufacturing processes have gotten so precise now that you can squeeze much more onto a single chip, the octa-core concept seems to be a practical, if slightly inelegant, way to lengthen a modern phone’s battery life without compromising performance where it matters.

So, what’s the difference between octa-core and quad-core in the modern smartphone business? Very little, as it turns out.

That octa-core term is more than a little misleading, as it doesn’t mean the doubling of quad-core , multi-core performance that it suggests. Rather, it represents two independently operating quad-core set-ups squeezed together on one chip for the purpose of greater energy efficiency.

Is such an octa core setup superior to a quad-core one? No, not necessarily. Apple manages to get decent energy efficiency and performance out of a dual-core setup, after all.

How to Get Android Notifications on Windows 10 ?

How to Get Android Notifications on Windows 10 ?

Ans:  Nowadays we have both the devices i.e. Android smartphone and Windows Desktop or Laptop in most homes and there are times when we think that if they can be synced to work seamlessly together so that we can finish an incomplete job on the go.

Therefore, if we are able to receive Android notifications on our windows laptop or Pc it will make our lives a little easier.
In this short article I will try to shed some light on this topic and make it useful to you.

First of all we need to turn on 'Cortana' , Microsoft's assistant on our pc to proceed.

You’ll know if she’s on if you see a little ring in the bottom left search box in Windows 10.

If she’s currently turned off, you’ll need to click on the search box, hit gear icon to open up the settings menu, and click the slider under the prompt to enable Cortana to “On.” Then just sign in with your Microsoft account. (Cortana needs this so she can save info that’s most relevant to you.)

Now , to get most basic smartphone notifications on your Windows 10 PC is to install the Microsoft Cortana app from the Google Play Store. Follow the steps to install Cortana and setup notifications.

Open the Google Play Store app on your phone. Search for Cortana. Install Microsoft Cortana.

Once installed, open Cortana; Tap the three-menu button in the top right, then tap Settings.

Once in the settings menu, tap Cross Device. Next, tap to turn on notifications for missed call, incoming messages, low battery. You can also tap App Notification Sync to get app notifications from all of your apps. You must then give Cortana notification access.

After that, tap the back button and then choose which apps you’d like to sync your notifications for.

Hurray! All of your chosen app notifications will now be synced to your PC.

Thanks for reading! I hope this article cleared all your doubts about how we can easily sync  Smartphone's notifications to our pc and if you really got to know something new, share this with everyone you know as more views will motivate me to write more such informative articles for you!

12 Popular smartphone myths blasted :-

12 Popular smartphone myths blasted!

Like everything in technology, mobile phones are prone to myths and rumors that just don’t seem to die.

So here I am trying to unravel the myths which are baseless and  should be clarified :

 1.  Using phones in the petrol pump may cause fire:-

Petroleum gas is flammable – it can be ignited by a spark. But that spark will probably come from matches, lighters or static electricity and not your mobile phone. The fear is that a faulty phone or battery will cause a spark and fire but this is extremely unlikely and there is not a single verified incidence of this happening.

 2. Don't charge your phone overnight as it damages the battery :-

All modern electronics with rechargeable batteries have safety circuits built in to prevent overcharging and therefore any sort of damage. Once the battery has been fully charged, it will stop charging on its own. The power adapter may continue to draw a little bit of power in some cases.

 3. Only charge your phone after exhausting the battery fully :-

Lithium-ion batteries actually perform better when they remained charged. Older NiCAD and NiMH lasted longer when you let them fully drain before charging back to 100 percent. Modern batteries don’t face this same sort of problem because they don’t have “cell memory” like the older NiCAD and NiMH rechargeables.

However, there is still some truth to this rumor. While it doesn’t make your battery last any longer, some experts agree that you should be doing a 0-100 cycle – that is, letting it drain completely before fully recharging – every three months, or after 40 partial cycles . It's not to increase the life of your battery, but instead it’s called a “calibration” and it helps the reading that shows on your display to remain accurate.

 4. We should only use original chargers :-

To some extent, this myth exists solely to put money in the pockets of the phone manufacturer’s. While smartphones have razor thin profit margins, the accessory market makes up a good deal of a company’s revenue.

The truth of the matter is that any charger built to manufacturers specs are safe to use with your phone.

What most consumers don’t understand is that there is a difference between a quality third party charger, and that of a cheap Chinese counter-part.

 5. We should not call or receive call while charging :-

It's true that there have been a few cases of mobile phones and tablets exploding – but it's actually the batteries that caused a fire and exploded – not the entire device itself.

Typically, the issue was attributed to low-quality, aftermarket batteries, spurious chargers, dubious charging techniques (trying to charge gadgets from 440 volt lines, DC batteries and so on). If you use genuine batteries and chargers in the way they are supposed to be used, you won't have a problem.

 6. We believe that more the Mega pixel, better the camera :-

Sometimes when purchasing a new phone, the camera specs are generally headlined by the number of megapixels on board. But a large megapixel count doesn't necessarily mean a higher quality camera overall.

More megapixels do mean a higher resolution image. However, unless you’re zoomed in, or want to print the image on a larger scale, you probably wouldn’t notice the difference between 8MP and 12MP. When selecting a camera, you're better off looking for a large aperture, optical image stabilisation, depth of field capabilities, and a wide angled lens.

 7. Running background apps kills battery faster :-

Apple and Android both allow applications to run in the background for more efficient multi-tasking. This myth seems as if it could be legitimate due to the idea that any additional processes use system resources, and the more programs you have running, the slower the device will be.

However, both operating systems limit just how much these apps can do while they’re running in the background; Android, less so than Apple. But the amount of drain to your battery is quite minimal, and as far as slowing down your phone is concerned, it’s unlikely that multi-tasking is the culprit.

 8. 4G network uses more data than 3G :-

4G is much faster than 3G, but that doesn't mean it uses more data. Any webpage, app, or other download is the same size whichever network you're on. For example, a 3MB webpage will still use 3MB of data whether you view it on 3G or 4G.

However, you may feel that 4G eats up data in less time than 3G. This is because 4G allows users to browse more pages in less time, resulting in hitting your allowance sooner. Also, streaming services such as YouTube or Netflix are often available in different resolutions to match your connection. On a faster connection you may be tempted to watch more HD rather than SD content, which also uses up your data allowance quicker.

 9. Using hair dryer to make your wet phone dry :-

Dropped your handset in the sink? Dunked it in the sea? You may be tempted to reach for the hairdryer, but this isn't the best course of action.

Yes, it will help in evaporating the moisture from the handset, however, there is a great possibility the smartphone will overheat, or the water will be blown further inside the device, and as a result the components will become damaged. Instead, try placing your phone in a box of dried rice and keeping your fingers crossed.

10. Incognito mode will hide everything :-

Most mobile phone browsers have a private or incognito mode but this is just a mode that does not keep any tracking cookies or history saved on the device. It will not hide your identity, location, activity or sites you visit from the internet service provider (whether Wi-Fi or GSM), from authorities that may have access or from the owners of the sites themselves.

11. Power saving apps will improve battery backup :-

Power-saving apps  claim to rein in unnecessary energy consumption so your smartphone charge lasts longer. Butdo they really work? ... In the process, they consume CPU time and batterylife. Other apps suffer from design issues or outright flaws (called bugs) that cause them to draw unnecessary power.

So,in the long run it may do more harm than good!

12. Powerful processors alone will remove lag from device :-

Processor specs are crammed with numbers, like the number of cores or the clock speed, that show off how fast and powerful it is. In fact, putting an identical processor in two different phones will not result in identical performance. The most important thing is great operating system (OS) optimisation.

So having a powerful processor alone cannot guarantee a lag-free performance!

Thanks and cheers!

Computer Maintenance Tips to Keep Your Computer Safe and lag-free :-

Computer Maintenance Tips to Keep Your Computer Safe and lag-free  :-

Speed and Performance are something people don’t want to compromise on their computers! Because of this, most people have a tendency to throw away existing computers, if they start lagging. Quite ironically, the same happens for the newer laptops and desktops too.
As it turns out, the problem is with maintaining your computer. And, most of the users across the globe need well-crafted computer maintenance tips for everyday uses, and to help you with that, I have created a computer maintenance checklist.

These tips are simple but can help you a lot in the end.

 1. Fight Off Dust :-

Dust happens to be one of the major problems that affect your computer. If you have a properly enclosed room. It is not an issue. But, if you have placed the computer in a dusty room, it’s better to regularly remove dust from various parts. To do this, you have to understand the potential areas of your PC first. You can look at the vents and fan-cooling areas. Over accumulation of dust can also cause the issues of PC slowdown and hardware malfunction.

2. Ensure Proper Flow of Electricity :-

Laptop charging adapters come with inbuilt options for power optimization. You may not have this option in the desktop. So, for the longer functioning of your PC, you should have a look at the wiring and power output. The use of surge suppressor and related equipment is highly recommended. The improper amount of flow can cause you issues like hardware outrage.

 3. Back Up Your Data :-

This is not really a maintenance tip, but an integral part of our Laptop/ Desktop Maintenance Guide. Things that happen to your PC is something unpredictable. So, you should take enough precautions to protect your data. One thing you can do is to take a few regular backups. We recommend doing it on a weekly basis.  If you are using a professional data backup tool for your PC, it isn’t a problem. All your information will be automatically backed up.

4. Use an Antivirus Program:-

If you are running Windows 10, you can have two options. First, you can stick onto Windows Defender, the default antivirus. If you need additional features, you should get a third-party antivirus suite from Bitdefender, Norton, Kaspersky, Avast and many other developers. These suites will help your computer from many digital threats – both offline and online ones at the same time.

5. Perform Antivirus Scans:-

Antivirus scans are not only for finding viruses that may be present. Most protection suites have the option to find major issues in your computer, especially regarding junk files and all. Before you perform the scan, make sure that you’re running the latest virus definitions and database. Regular antivirus scans are an effective way to stay safe and maintain the privacy and security of your computer.

It is also recommended to be aware of suspicious looking ads and websites.

 6. Use an Anti-Malware Software :-

There is a slight difference between Anti-Virus software and Anti-Malware Software. Because not all malware are viruses, but all viruses are malware. So, at times, your antivirus program may not be able to detect all types of malware. In those instances, you can use dedicated anti-malware programs like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. If you need in-depth cleaning of your PC, these tools will help you.

 7. Get Rid of Junk Files :-

Junk files are a reason for PC slowdown and reduced performance. So, for the stable performance, you should delete junk files on a regular basis. These include temporary files and other obsolete stuff. The problem is that they can consume lots of system resources. So, it makes sense to use a  tool like CCleaner and get rid of such useless stuff. If you can, you should also use a Windows Registry cleaner utility.

8. Delete Internet Files:-

Well, this might be new to you: when you browse the Internet, a lot of files are kept in storage. These include cache files, internet cookies, passwords and other scripts. At times, these files may be used to track your activities or steal data. And, the same files can cause your PC slowdown. So, it’s recommended to delete these files on a regular basis and get a quicker browsing experience.

9. Defragment Your HDD:-

If you have noticed, HDDs become slow in the course of time. It’s because of fragmentation of files. So, defragmentation is an effective solution to increase the speed and stability of your Hard Disk Drives. Many free and premium tools can be used for defragmentation. To do this, you don’t have to know any technicalities. You can even enable automatic options for defragmenting files.

Windows has system tools like Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter which can be accessed from Start Menu -- Accessories -- System tools to keep your computer running smoothly.

10. Clean Up Unused Software :-

In the course of time, you would have installed a huge number of programs on your computer. Most of them would have become useless too. In that case, you should take an effort to clean up the non-used software. This tip will help you to get the best PC speed and features. Also, these unwanted programs may be used for spying and data stealing purposes. And, yes, you can also save storage space.

11. Unused, Big Files kill speed :-

One of the things which will most frequently slow down perfectly good computers is unnecessary and unwanted clutter. Downloaded setup files, unwanted music files, and excessive film collections are amongst the data often to blame for the slow processing power of computers which were much faster as stock items.

It is sensible to regularly de-clutter your computer so that this is less of a problem. Whilst this seems wasteful, your computer will operate best with no more than 50% of its memory full. If you need additional storage space then it is sensible to invest in an external hard drive and disconnect it when it is not in use.

A good amount of free storage space is always recommended in any computer, be it Windows or Mac. If you’re not using some big files frequently, you can delete them. Alternatively, you can keep those files on an external HDD. And, don’t try to store media files in the OS installation drive (I am talking about Windows). Always keep some more free space in "C" drive of your computer.

12.  Take a Look at Task Manager :-

Using Windows Task Manager, you can know about the heavy-duty programs you have installed. If you suspect some non-usual activities in your computer, you should open the Task Manager. If you are on Windows 10, the Task Manager UI is something cool. You can get to know about performance, disk usage, network usage etc. Also, if some programs act in a strange way, you should give extra care.

13. Upgrade Your RAM :-

If you are using RAM-hungry programs like Google Chrome, this is an effective way to increase the performance. First, you should make sure that there is an extra RAM slot. Otherwise, you can replace the existing RAM chip with an upgraded size counterpart. This is one of the reasons not to put your computer on stress. When there is enough RAM free, you won’t have trouble with multitasking.

14. Use your computer cautiously in  extreme-weather conditions , such as lightling, thunder-storms, heavy rain etc. It is also adviced to pull out your computer's plug from the electric source to avoid major damage.

15. Use Cloud Storage :-

There are many services that offer free cloud storage for everyone. All you need is internet connectivity and an email ID. So, you can utilize these storage space for backing up data or mere storage. Suppose you have a few photos from an old album. Instead of storing them locally, you can upload to the web. This saves your local storage space but also increases the security and accessibility.

Mistakes You Make While Charging Your Phone :

Mistakes You Make While Charging Your Phone :-

As smartphones have become a part of our day-to-day life we tend to use it to our  heart's content and for that we need to charge our phones atleast once or twice a day atleast. But doing so we make a few mistakes which hurts our devices and it's batteries which in turn affects it's performance and longevity. So here I am going to discuss about them and in the end there will a few bonus tips to genuinely improve your device's  battery life.

1. Charging your phone to the max before using it for the first time :-

Too often it is advised to charge your phone first fully before using your new phone but actually it's  perfectly fine if you just buy a phone, take it out of the box, and start using it right away.

2. Not using your phone while it's charging:-

It doesn't matter whether you’re using your phone while charging or not, it’ll still charge the same exact way.

 3. Being afraid that chargers from a different brand will kill your battery :-

If the charger works well enough, it won't harm your mobile device. So if you need to urgently charge your phone in an emergency or the factory charger it came with doesn't work anymore, you can get any cheap version that’s compatible with your smartphone.

4. Thinking that turning your phone off will damage the battery :-

If you simply shut your device off from time to time, nothing dramatic will happen. In fact, some devices may actually start working more effectively after you reboot them.

5. Trying to “train” your battery :-

Feel free to charge your phone even if the battery is as full as 90%. Charging your phone frequently doesn't hurt the battery.

6. Not charging your phone overnight for fear of damaging the battery :-

If you wanna extend your battery’s lifespan, keep it charged between 40 and 80%. Believe it or not, this actually helps the battery live the longest.

7. Putting the battery in the freezer to make it last longer :-

Freezing your phone does nothing more than kill the battery. The thing is that lithium-ion batteries react badly to both cold and heat.

8. Using task managers to prolong battery life :-

The built-in system on your phone is already dealing with everything that should be done to keep your device’s performance in tip-top shape. As for third-party task managers, they’re actually more likely to decrease your phone’s performance.

9. Fearing to leave your phone charger plugged in :-

It's perfectly safe to leave your charger plugged in unless you have a damaged charger, pets at home, or no lightning protection.

10. Not charging laptops all the time to prevent damage :-

Experts recommend discharging your laptop to zero percent no more than once a month.

11. Believing that the Internet runs your battery down the fastest :-

If you’re just surfing the Net or reading articles, it doesn’t influence your battery life any more than listening to music does.

12. Turning off Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi to prolong the battery life :-

Wi-Fi consumes even less energy than your smartphone needs to maintain the cellular data connection.

Now let's look at the points we can consider to truly keep your phone's battery in great condition.

Tips to prolong the life of your battery:

1. Keep batteries cool :-

Avoid leaving your smartphone, tablet, or laptop in direct sunlight or in a hot car. And definitely don’t take your gadgets to a hot place, like the beach or sauna.

2. Store batteries with a bit of charge :-

The problem with storing batteries is that they lose their charge over time. And when this charge drops to zero, your battery will automatically kill itself so that it doesn’t become unstable.

Thanks for your patience! I really appreciate that you have read this far. If this article interests you and helps you in any little way, the only thing I ask for is sharing it to your contacts.

Cheers and Thanks !

What is Password Manager? Good or Bad? What are the best password managers across platforms?

What is Password Manager? Good or Bad? What are the best password managers across platforms?

With the revolutionary increase in the number of internet-user and variety of websites , we sure have multiple accounts to manage simultaneously.

While registering in different websites , we tend to carelessly use the same passwords or lightly modified passwords as  we are afraid of forgetting them altogether. But this is a dangerous practice as it jeopardizes your entire online security. But at the same time it is very hard to memorize all the unique and critical passwords for each and every online account. Don't worry ! As there is a very easy solution for this seemingly critical problem.

The solution is Password Manager.

What is password manager?

It's a tool which enables you to  remember only one strong master password to log into  all the accounts.
It is like a locker which stores all the passwords of your different accounts and encrypts it and provides you with one long and strong master password. It alsobprovides the feature of auto-fill .

So you only need to memorize only this master password to safely log into the accounts. It also has the feature of generating unique passwords which is hard to crack.

For most people, remembering all their passwords is nearly impossible. Having a secure password manager is a solution that will create strong passwords, store them in an encrypted database, and will automatically fill in your username and password on sites that need them, which is more secure than writing them down in a notebook or storing them in a text file.

But we should be very careful about choosing that one strong password, commit it to memory and must  not disclose it to anyone! I suggest you to also enable two-factor authentication in apps and sites which allow them. While logging into a site or an app it will send you a code on your registered mobile no. and you have to enter that code for logging in. As a result if somehow your master password is hacked, they will still not be able to do any damage .It will add an extra layer of protection.

Therefore, we need to use the password manager judiciously and it will make life a lot easier for you..

How to stay safe online?

  How to stay safe online?

We use our smartphones extensively in our daily  lives in almost all the things that we do. Be it surfing the web for various information , to connect through social media or banking , there are things that are extremely important and personal and the revelation of which can endanger our very lives as there are no dearth of traps and ensnares in the online world. So here are some ways , abiding which you can truly protect yourselves in the online space.

 1.  Use a lock ( Pin/pattern/fingerprint/face) :-

Though it's a basic thing to do, you will be amazed to find that so many people even now don't use any lock as they want to avoid that  little hassle. But if they lose their phones their entire data finds itself  in the stranger's hands and can be used for any foul purpose, damaging your personal , economical and social life !

 2. Review App Permissions:-

While downloading apps from the play store, we often tend to neglect what permissions the apps are demanding for and carelessly accept to download it.
From time to time we should review if the permission wanted by an app is really required or else you should not allow it.

Example- There may be a music player which is asking permission for contacts, camera  etc. but apparently these permissions are not really required, so we should turn these permissions off as they may spying in your personal information!

 3. Download from official sources :-

Only download apps from official source, such as Google Play for Android, Appstore for iOS based devices.

Don't forget to enable Google play protect which scans apps in the background and removes any suspicious apps.

Another important thing to do is to go to the settings menu and find security. Then go to the 'unknown sources' option and turn that off. Now, even if you accidentally downloaded any apk file from sources other than the Google play appstore , it will block the installation in that device .

 4. Choose strong Passwords :-

Google account is very crucial as it's linked with the various apps we use. So from time to time we should  do a security check up of our account linked with the smartphone or any other smart devices .  Sometimes we tend to ignore it and use very simple and hackable passwords such as '123456', your name , birthday etc., or same passwords for multiple accounts , which leaves our data unprotected and can be used by others to play foul on you. So it's very important to use a strong, unique passwords which contain upper case, lower case, alphabets and numbers. In case you’re afraid you might forget all the different passwords, use password managing software to help you keep track of them all.

 5.  Fake news :-

We see and hear a lot of things on the internet and think them all to be true but many of it may not be absolutely true . They might be a fake news or a media . So we should be more careful about believing and sharing things with people on the internet. In recent times a lot of fake news have gone viral through WhatsApp and other such social sites as a result of thoughtless sharing . As netizens we should be more responsible about what we share to others which in turn protects us from online fraud.

 6.  Secure websites :-

So many of us believe that we have no such valuable data or nothing to hide which in turn sacrifices our internet protection and hackers can easily get access to your contacts, call logs, media files , valuable documents.

So we should change this attitude and consider only visiting safe sites i.e. sites which always have " https"  in the url bar.
You can use a plug-in called "Https Everywhere" to automatically encrypts all the sites you visit.

 7.  Messaging Apps -

Only use messaging apps which encrypts your messages and therefore not easy to hack  such as WhatsApp,Facebook messenger, Telegram etc.

 8.  Conversations over the phone :-

Any phone call can easily be tapped and it does not happen only in suspense movies!

Use a special app called 'Eagle Security' that track and store the location of all cell towers, or “bases” or cell towers.
If it notices some "base" moving about the city or the signal disappears from time to time it marks it as suspicious and notifies the owner of the phone.!

9. Open Wi-fi zones : -

Sometimes we find the services of free wi-fi zones and tend to use it without much thinking, which can be very risky.

You should use the services of free vpn providers, like VPNbook or Freevpn which encrypts all the traffic you are using through the  wi-fi. You can also install the browser TOR. When configured correctly, it won’t let anyone know where or who you are.

10. Adwares :-

Adwares comes  often disguised as seemingly harmless advertisements which can get access to your browser history to send you more targeted ads, track your location, and even disable your antivirus! To avoid all that mess, it’s better to install ad blocking on your computer and other smart devices.

I hope you will be benefitted from this article and I will be really grateful if you share this with everyone you know to appreciate the hard work. Keep visiting my site for more such informative articles..

What sensors do we have in our Smartphones? What are their use?

What sensors do we have in our Smartphones? What are their use?

Nowadays , a smartphone comes with various types of sensors such as  Gyroscope, Accelerometer Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Barometer Sensor, Magnetometer Sensor ,Pedometer Sensor, Light Sensors, Thermometer, Biometrics sensor etc. to give us multiple smart features.

Now to a newbie user, it is very easy to get confused about all these as they don't know what purposes these sensors serve .

But there is no need to be worried ! This article covers all the info  you need to know about sensors. So keep reading!

 1.  Proximity Sensor :-

Every smartphone has this sensor. Whenever you make or receive a call , this sensor gets turned on and when you put your phone to your ear , it turns the screen off and whenever you remove it from your ear, the screen gets turned on.. A very essential feature.

There are other apps like wave music and ....... which make use of this in unique ways.

 2. Accelerometer :-

To describe it in simple terms , this sensors renders the orientation of your device. It means when you turn the 'Auto-rotation' option in your notification panel, it rotates the screen according to the way you hold your phone, be it in Portrait or vertical mode and Landscape or horizontal mode in order to provide you the best view of your choice.

 3. Gyroscope. :-

It's a sensor designed to measure angular velocity. In simple terms , like the Accelerometer it determines the orientation, the movement of your device . It's like the Accelerometer sensor but it's more advanced and accurate.
Here we can take the example of a car racing game where you have to change your device's direction frequently from right to left and vice-versa to move your car. It becomes possible only because of this sensor.

 4. Light sensor:-

Another important sensor of our smartphones. Whenever we turn our " Auto-brightness " on , in the display settings, it lowers our screen's brightness in low light conditions such as in our homes so that it doesn't hurt our eyes and whenever we go out in the sunlight, the screen's brightness gets increased automatically, so that we can get a proper view in the bright sunlight.

 5. Magnetometer :-

This sensor enables a device to determine the direction i.e. acts as a Compass.

Sometimes in a new place we wonder which side is north or east or west or south . In this sort of situations this feature if your comes in really handy.

 6. Barometer :-

Tracks the altitude or the distance from the sea-level of your device which in turn helps to determine the exact location of the device. It is also used to measure air pressure and any sudden weather changes.

7. Biometrics sensor :-

This  is one of the most important sensor that your phone should have as it is related intrinsically to the safety and security of you and your device . All the lock and unlock mechanisms like Fingerprint impression, Face unlock , Iris scanner except pin and patterns, is based on this sensor to improve the security of our devices on the go.

 8. Thermometer sensor:-

As is evident from the name, this sensor measures the temperature of your device as well as of outside .

 9. Pedometer sensor :-

If you have this sensor your phone , it will serve the purpose of accurately counting your steps when you walk or run and therefore can be an aid in your quest for fitness.

Thanks for reading! I hope this article cleared all your doubts about the sensors in our Smartphones and if you really got to know something new, share this with everyone you know as more views will motivate me to write more such informative articles for you!

What is screen pinning? How to use it on any android phone?

What is screen pinning? How to use it on any android phone?

With the evolution of smartphone gaming, most of the people spend a lot of time playing games on their phones. Are you a gamer or heavy user of smartphone? Then this feature of screen pinning will be  handy for you.

First of all, let's discuss what's screen pinning and then we will try to explain how can make use of this smart feature that your phone has.

'Screen pinning' , the term is quite self-explanatory. It means pinning a particular screen or window or an app through which you can only access that screen or app and all the other buttons and apps will be inaccessible until you unpin that app or game or window..

While playing a game or using an app sometimes call or notification comes and intervenes the gameplay or an important job.

Sometimes while using an application we mistakenly touch home or back button which breaks the rhythm of the gameplay or the important job we might be doing at that moment.

Sometimes while we have to give our phones to a child or someone else as they want to play a game or use a certain app, screen pinning ensures that they can only play the game or use that app and can't use anything else even if they want which protects your privacy.

Thus this feature really comes handy in these sort of situations.

This feature is available from Android's 'Lollipop' version and upwards, but still some phones may not have this feature. Nothing can be done about that!

Those who have it can use it to enjoy a smarter gaming experience and distraction-free work, all without sacrificing your privacy and security..

How to access and make use of it?

First , head to settings and then tap on security. There you can find screen pinning option. Next you will have the option to enable it.

After enabling, you have to select the app or the screen you want to pin and then touch the overview button. Next you have to swipe up and then you can notice a small pin , then touching it will enable it.

When you want to unpin you have to press and hold the overview button for a while and then it will be unpinned.

So, that's it for now. Thanks for reading. I hope you found this article helpful ! For more such info, keep visiting the site and share as it will motivate me to bring out more articles for you.

What should be done before you sell your phone ?

As smartphones have become a part of our daily lives, we store a lot of personal valuable data in it to get it handy .So while selling this piece of our day-to-day lifestyle , we must be very careful.

Here are few points to consider before you sell your phone :-

 1.  While selling it's not enough to only factory reset your phone once as the data can be easily restored with a recovery software. It only deletes the addresses of the files and thinks and shows  that it's completely free. But surprisingly it's not. The data can be recovered and all your  personal data can be stolen which can jeopardize your life afterwards!

2. We should do a double format before selling your phone.

First , remove all your accounts from your phone, such as , Facebook, Twitter ,Instagram, Pinterest ,Google plus etc.
Then encrypt your phone which can be done from the settings menu and then format it. Now load some random data which has no connection with you such as music , videos etc. in your device and then format it once again. So that one can never recover your original personal data and you can enjoy a peace of mind!

3. There's a software called Dr. Fone , available for both android and iOS which erases all the data from your phone and not be recovered by any software. You can try this as well..

 4.  Don't forget to remove your sim card and memory cards before formatting !

Stock Android vs Android One vs Android Go :-

Stock Android vs Android One vs Android Go :-

Everyone is using a Smartphone nowadays which are popularly based on Android or iOS.

Now there are phones which are based on Stock android which means there will be neither  bloatwares nor useless, pre-installed third-party apps on your device , helping it deliver a smooth and lag-free performance for a longer period. Stock android can be seen in Google's flagship devices like Pixel phones , Nexus devices, Moto devices etc.

There are no skin on top of it like MI phones or Honor's 'Emui'.
Phones having stock android  are the first receivers of guaranteed android updates from Google itself as they are the easiest to apply such ota updates and are most secured. These are the pure android phones and can be referred as the benchmark of Android.

Now we also come across devices which are known as Android One phones. This programme was initially meant for low-end devices and introduced in India but they can now be seen in mid-range or higher mid-range phones as well.

They are an amalgamation of stock android and a few customisations done by the manufacturer. It means it neither has an over-the-top UI of the manufacturer like MIUI or EMUI nor it's a stock android like in Nexus, Pixel, Moto devices . It's close to stock but in phones of different companies like Samsung, Mi ,Honor etc , with a few twist which is actually liked by many instead of a plain and clear stock.

These phones receive android
updates for 2 years and security patch upgrades directly from Google for atleast 3 years.

Android Go programme actually replaces the original Android One programme which is a toned down version of Android, designed for low-end entry-level phones to give smooth performance even in less powerful devices.

Here you can find less pre-installed apps and lot of original apps are replaced by special 'go' apps like YouTube Go, Gmail Go , Maps Go etc.

The biggest difference between Stock android , Android One and Android go is that unlike the Stock and One, it doesn't come directly from Google Inc. Google gives it to an OEM like Nokia and then Nokia releases it and is responsible for further upgrades and updates . As a result, you are not really guaranteed to get updates or timely updates.

There are phones which does not belong to any of these 3 categories. They say that they come with stock android but with their own UI like Asus's  Zen UI , Vivo's  Funtouch ,  Samsung's Touchwiz or the latest Experience 10 , Mi 's MIUI etc. in which they include some of their customisations and a few apps.

In a nutshell , every user's need is taken care of and they can choose  according to their taste and need.

I hope you liked the article and if it indeed proved useful don't forget to share it with your friends and relatives so that they too can be get benefitted from it.

What are the differences among DDR/DDR 2/DDR 3/ DDR 4 Ram? What is the best choice among them?

Q. What are the differences among DDR/DDR 2/DDR 3/ DDR 4 Ram? What is the best choice among them?

While going to buy a laptop or a desktop we are given the choice of various configurations including various types of Ram and we often get confused, not having sufficient knowledge.

Well, in this article , I am going to compare DDR1 vs DDR2 vs DDR3 vs DDR4 and mention difference between DDR1, DDR2, DDR3 and DDR4 SDRAM memory types. I will also explain the differences between SDR SDRAM and DDR SDRAM types.

Each generation of memory is marked by speed and frequency increases and power consumption decreases. Because computer hardware is all connected and interdependent, this leads to speed increases in other components.

Introduction:

SDRAM stands for Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory. As the name suggests it has synchronous behaviour and as a result it synchronizes itself with CPU timing or clock signal. FOr example PC133 SDRAM refers to SDRAM running at the clock signal of 133 MHz. There are two types of SDRAM viz. SDR SDRAM and DDR SDRAM.

Difference between SDR SDRAM and DDR SDRAM :-

SDR SDRAM:-

It is the short form of Single Data Rate SDRAM. In this SDRAM type, same frequency is used for Input/Output operations, bus clock and internal clock. As mentioned above PC133 uses 133 MHz for all these purpose. SDR SDRAM can either read or write one at a time in single clock cycle.

DDR SDRAM:-

It is the short form of Double Data Rate SDRAM. It can transfer data on both the rising edge of the clock as well as falling edge of the clock i.e. doubles the transfer rate without even increasing the clock signal frequency. DDR SDRAM has 2 bit prefetch buffer size which is double of SDR SDRAM. There are various versions of DDR SDRAM viz. DDR1 (or simply DDR), DDR2, DDR3 and DDR4 based on various features as explained below.

DDR1 SDRAM or DDR SDRAM :-

Following are the features of DDR1 SDRAM type:

• It transfers data on rising and falling edge of clock. Hence it has double data transfer rate compare to SDR SDRAM type.

• Clock speed: 133 to 200 MHz

• Prefetch buffer size: 2 bits

• Operating voltage: 2.5V

• Data transfer rate: 266 to 400 MT/s (MegaTransfers per SECond)

• Examples: DDR266, DDR400

DDR2 SDRAM :-

Following are the features of DDR2 SDRAM type:

• It operates external data bus two times faster compare to DDR1 SDRAM type or DDR SDRAM.

• Clock speed: 133 to 200 MHz

• Operating voltage: 1.8 V

• Prefetch buffer size: 4 bits

• Data transfer rate: 533 to 800 MT/s (MegaTransfers per SECond)

• Examples: DDR2 533, DDR2 800

DDR3 SDRAM :-

Following are the features of DDR3 SDRAM type:

• Its power consumption is less compare to previous version i.e. DDR2 which is about 40% less. This is due to use of lower operating voltage of 1.5V compare to DDR and DDR2 SDRAM types.

• Operating voltage: 1.8 V

• Prefetch buffer size: 8 bits

• Data transfer rate: 800 to 1600 MT/s (MegaTransfers per SECond)

• DDR3L-800 , DDR3L-1066 , DDR3L-1333 and DDR3L-1600

• Special functions used: ASR (i.e. Automatic Self Refresh) , SRT (Self Refresh Temperature).

DDR4 SDRAM :-

DDR4 memory is the latest generation of double data-rate random access memory. DDR4 replaces DDR3, which replaced DDR2, which replaced what is now called DDR.

Following are the features of DDR4 SDRAM type:

• It provides further lower operating voltage and faster transfer rate compare to other DDR types.

• Operating voltage: 1.2V

• Data transfer rate: 2133 to 3200 MT/s

• Example: DDR4-2400, Micro Technology Inc.

• It processes four data in a single clock cycle.

• Efficiency: better than DDR3.

• Special functions: DBI (i.e. Data Bus inversion), CRC, CA parity.

In a nutshell, it can be deduced that the latest DDR4 Ram is the fastest and most energy-efficient Memory which provides the smoothest performance till date .
